When you first played Maple did you think about quitting?

When you first played Maple did you think about quitting because of the Graphics and the gameplay etc? I know for a fact I did.. I thought it was gay because I was playing Rose Online and I thought that game was better but then I got hacked lol and started playing Maple.

At first, i was a little put off by the graphics because i played that flash game. Then i played the game to lvl 5 and i still wasn't impressed by it. At that point i was thinking about quitting while im low. Then later i looked at some pictures (When i joined videos were very rare) and i saw all the level 50s (At that time they were rare also) killing cool monsters n stuff so i decided to stay and later i became hooked. I quit the game first because was just lazy then played again with different friends to play with. I then re-joined because my friends told me how easy it was to hack (Days of dupex)
These days im just over maplestory, i don't think i'll be into it again. I've kind of grown out of it.

I didn't think of quitting actually, I thought it was a fun game and it became even better when I started to hack, which was right off. Dupex made it soo easy to lvl characters and such and then once nexon became assholes and started acting like they cared about hackers, I thought about quitting, but I didnt quit till recently when I discovered World of Warcraft.

I first played in Beta..and well, I found it cause I was bored, So I went to my friends house and registered and we started playing..

Well any game, If you play with friends, you won't be bored.

I hate first hacking games off, it totally kills it because to me Once you hack, Theres no going back. I started hacking about 1 1/2 years after i discovered the game. Maybe a lot earlier then that but i try my best not to hack at the start. I almost screwed WoW because i started off playing on Fun Servers with like 3000x EXP then all i wanted to play was those. Then i quit for about a year and rejoined on a 30x server and had a good time. Too bad my laptop is shit so i fail at PvP. The only thing i can PvP with is a mage =/

I considered quitting because the gameplay is so repititive. I don't understand why it's "fun" even if you hack (All you're doing it pressing the same button over and over or not even playing at all and just letting it do the work). You're just grinding levels. The quests are kinda boring/too simple, Usually consisting of killing a monster 100,000 times to get a certain item or running all over the place delivering stuff people are too lazy to do themselves (Suprising how those people even get acquainted) or getting a couple thousand monster-specific items, which is a real bore. Usually the reward sucks too (Wow, Thanks for those 100,000 Nependath Seeds (No idea if spelt right), have 100 blue potions.)

I also don't understand how the graphics are particularly superior to that of Runescape's (2D, 3D? Isn't 3D usually better?) seeing as maplestory tends to use more old school-sprite kinda graphics for characters. While Runescape at least has a more realistic attempt with 3D (Some people prefer sprites though, so it's subjective as to which is better, I know a friend who says maplestory graphics are definitely worse just because they are 2D). The gameplay is boring with a Runescape Membership subscription, but I know a few people here are pleased with the gameplay after getting membership.

I don't know why I bothered getting to level 50 anyway (legitimate). A real waste of my time.
I understand some people hack maplestory to get high-level accounts to sell off.
Which is about the only good thing about maplestory, addicted people willing to buy other accounts.

Yeah i totally agree with Flamerokz. Maplestory has an addictive effect on many young players. Runescape may have better graphics n stuff but i reckon thats it's just plain ugly. The characters are ugly, the amour is ugly ( i thought runescape 1 amour was more sexy) and in maplestory (we can all agree here)
The Attack moves were A LOT more sexy then the one's in Runescape
Compare it : The magic is shooting water balloon looking things and in maplestory we're summoning dragons and blowing the monsters up.
But i'd say the biggest advantage runescape has over maplestory is PvP and other features,. I'd say if runescape sexorised it's characters and other stuff up, it would be a hell popular game. But web browser games aren't sexy, look at adventure quest..

ok back ontopic when i first played maple i kinda thought it was dum i gained to lv 2 then i quit then my brother started playing he got to level 21 then i thought the game was kinda cool so i started playing again. then a couple of months after i started playing again i found out how to use hacks.

I found ms real fun for like 6months till i got bored and stop lvling xD (legit) then i came across moosetrainer and it changed everything hacking was even funner xD but now ms seems kinda boring for me now
