Ok so if you came across a trading section, and you likes a character and want to buy/trade it, heres the guide NOT to get scammed:
1. First off get to know the person your trading with, and get some screen shots, that the account really exists.
2. If you want to buy/trade the character make sure if you do not want to get scammed that the other person has FULL INFO on their character.
3. Find an OFFICIAL mm which you are both suitable with from the list:

*Please ask nicely, first pm the mm if they would like to mm for you and what time is suitable for them. If you don't ask nice then thee is a chance that the mm wont mm for you.*
4. Once you got an mm, and their msn, set up a time and do the trading on a messenger, doesn't matter which one as long as it keeps a history of all the conversations you have.(I suggest msn, or aim)
5. When you go on verify that the mm pmed you their nickname/email is on and is not faked for instance you get Aborad to mm and their name on msn shows as "Aborad Official NT MM" make sure to verify the email address because you might get set up by the other person trying to get to use a fake mm.
6. Make sure to keep all your conversation history, just in case of proof.
7. Once you have exchanged informations with the other person I suggest right away log on to your character and check if the password/pin works. Once you verified that go ahead and change the pin right away.
8. Then you can go ahead and go to nexon website and change the password and all the details.
9. Now that you are on your character and you have changed all the info and pins, IM the person you have traded with, and say "thanks".
10. You have
SUCCESSFULLY traded/bought a character from another person.
Tips:
-Make sure before the trade all the screen shots look real not photoshoped, and make sue you get the screen shots from the person of the character.
-Try not to traded with a person with 20 posts and 0 reps, offering a level 120 character for 2 million messos.
-Make sure the person is known on nt and has been on nt a while, otherwise if he gets cought he has nothing to loose.
-Don't make your pin guessable(ex. 1111, or 1234).
-Try to make your pins random, and don't make them the current year like 2007.
-Try not to use passwords as qwerty, or zxcvbn. Use passwords a combination of letters and numbers. I usually make a password containing 11 letters/numbers.
-Make sure to change the email that the account is registered on so that the other person cant use the forgot pass, and that it sends to his email address.
-Once you have done all that, what I like to do is write all the info of the character on a piece of paper and hide it somewhere you know, so know one else who plays maple comes over and find the paper. But that techniques works because it has saved me a lot of account loses.
-Do not use people as mm who even are elite with 250+ reps because they are still not mod and might scam you.
-Do NOT make all your passwords the same, for example for maplestory, for nt, for email, and for msn if you get hacked, you will loose everything, like your email, msn, nt account, maple character and everything, so please dont make it the same pass for everything.
