| Prevent Yourself from Getting Scammed. Ok this is a quick advice thread that I made to stop all you sobs from getting scammed over, and over, and over again. MEETING THE TRADER. Ok so pretend you meet an interested trader.
You hit it off well and you become close ONLINE buddies. The keyword is ONLINE.
Many scammers use something called social engineering to lure you to trust them as a pal or buddy.
However, in reality, this is an online transaction meaning he just wantas to use you.
You might want to get straight to business during a trade and make sure this person also keeps
straight to the point.
My point is keep straight to the business and trust no one especially during a trade. INITIATING THE TRADE
Ok, well you guys have both agreed to trade each other and you are both satisfied with the trade.
Scammers usually make their moves now. There are several methods they employ to scam you. Here are a few.
1. They use the ID, PASS, and PIN method. This is when they tell you to give out their information in turns. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD USE AN MM!
2. They use 2 computers to log in both your account, and their account so that you won't be able to access the account you traded.
3. They impersonate as both an MM and the trader try to lure you into giving the account.
My advice, USE AN MM! SUCCESSFUL TRADE Right now you have had a successful trade, most likely with an MM. In this case you should thank the MM and the trader, and also rep them on NT.
Some Official MMs:
can be found at the officla mm list. ( only mods+ are allowed to do official NT trades)
Follow these rules and chances of getting scammed will decrease drastically.
EDIT: Only applies to NT forums. And a suggestion try to avoid trading with GzP, very untrustworthy.
Also check the ABUSE section for current active scammers within NT, hopefully you won't end up there.
